AMD sTR5 Server
Our AMD sTR5 dedicated servers deliver outstanding performance with the latest AMD Ryzen™ ThreadRipper™ CPU technology. Thanks to AMD's new 5nm manufacturing technology, AMD ThreadRipper™ CPUs achieve outstanding single-core performance with comparatively low power consumption.

Special Features of AMD sTR5 Dedicated Servers
Our AMD sTR5 dedicated server offerings are based on the latest ThreadRipper™ CPU generation, which was only launched in 2025. It is based on the new Zen 5 (“Shimada Peak”) architecture. The largest CPU in this generation – ThreadRipper™ PRO 9995WX – has 96 cores and 192 threads and achieves a clock speed of up to 5.4 GHz in boost mode. Thanks to the server motherboards with 8 memory lanes, a maximum of 2 TB of RAM can be installed per node. The boost to 5.4 GHz is possible for all CPU cores and is not limited to individual CPU cores.
In addition to the high clock speed, 128 PCIe 5.0 lanes are also provided, offering sufficient performance for additional NVMe SSDs or graphics cards, for example for AI workloads. The sTR5 dedicated servers thus offer unbeatable value for money in a wide range of applications.
This new generation of AMD Ryzen™ ThreadRipper™ CPUs sets new standards for server environments in 2025!

The administration of our servers is done via our self-developed server administration. Installation, reboots, monitoring, IP management and traffic analysis become a breeze.
Our co-user administration also allows your colleagues quick access to all servers. The shared servers and permissions can be set separately for each co-user.'
For installation we offer all common operating systems. Either as automatic installation, or manual installation with SSH/VNC access. If we don't have your desired operating system in our offer, you can use our ISO installer, or contact our support to extend our automatic installations.
In case of problems or misconfigurations, you can temporarily start a non-invasive rescue system. This resides exclusively in memory and allows SSH access to your server and the data on it.
For our servers we rely on hardware with IPMI support. IPMI can also be queried directly in our server administration. So you have all important system parameters of your server always available. Even reboots are possible without any problems in case of emergency.
You also have full visibility at the network level. We provide a detailed overview of your server system's traffic usage. Grouping multiple servers into a collective traffic pool—for example, for analysis purposes—is also possible.
Frequently Asked Questions
Why should I rent an AMD sTR5 root server?

sTR5 servers are based on the latest AMD Ryzen Threadripper 9000 generation with sTR5 socket. They offer an extremely high number of cores, high clock frequencies, and an enormous number of PCIe 5.0 lanes—ideal for computationally intensive workloads and virtualization.
What advantages does AMD ThreadRipper offer in server applications?

The main advantages of using AMD ThreadRipper CPUs in servers:
- Enormous number of cores and threads → Up to 96 cores / 192 threads (Threadripper PRO 9995WX)
- High clock frequencies → Higher base clocks and boost frequencies than classic server CPUs
- Large PCIe 5.0 connection → Up to 128 PCIe 5.0 lanes
- Support for large amounts of RAM
- Workstation + server in one
- Cost efficiency → Very high performance per dollar
Are AMD ThreadRipper servers equipped with redundant power supplies?

Yes, all AMD ThreadRipper dedicated servers offered have redundant power supply units (RPSUs). These ensure maximum reliability in the power supply. If one power supply fails, the second takes over without interruption—ideal for productive or business-critical workloads.
Do AMD sTR5 servers have a redundant network?

Yes, to ensure a high degree of redundancy, we provide at least 2x 1 Gigabit/s network connections with each server. In addition, the management console is also dedicatedly wired. The respective network ports are terminated on different switches so that they can be used as active-passive bonds or as LACP. This ensures protection against the failure of a single switch and maintenance tolerance on the network side.
Can an AMD Ryzen server also be equipped with a 10 Gigabit/s network?

Yes, the upgrade function to 10 Gigabit/s is available as an option during the ordering process. Here too, redundancy is always provided by two 10 G ports. Like our 1 Gigabit/s ports, these can be configured as active-passive bonds or as LACP.
What extensions are possible?

Unfortunately, we cannot offer some extensions as standard via our ordering process. However, these can easily be implemented on request via our support team.
- Multiple high-end GPUs (e.g., NVIDIA H100, RTX 6000 Ada)
- NVMe SSDs with PCIe 5.0 for maximum I/O performance
- 40/100 Gbit/s network adapters
- Hardware RAID controllers for NVMe / SATA / SAS SSDs
Is there an IPMI/KVM console?

Yes – all servers have remote management (IPMI, KVM over IP). This allows BIOS access, hardware monitoring, reboots, or installations to be performed outside of the operating system – ideal for system administrators. The IPMI console is also protected by a KVMM proxy and is therefore not permanently available via the Internet. Our server management provides the temporary proxy for direct access to the IPMI.
Who manages the sTR5 server?

The servers are delivered in an unmanaged model – you receive full root access.
Optionally, we offer managed services, where we take care of maintenance, monitoring, patching, and security.
How quickly will my server be ready for use?

Delivery usually takes place within 1-3 business days, provided that the respective system is not available from stock. It should be noted that AMD Ryzen ThreadRipper servers are always delivered with brand-new hardware.
Is DDoS protection included?

Yes, basic protection against DDoS attacks (Layer 3/4) is included as standard and can be selected when ordering. For particularly vulnerable applications (e.g., game servers, APIs), advanced DDoS filters or Geo-IP blocking can be added. These features are then available from our Silver/Gold DDoS Protection packages onwards.
In which data center are the servers located?

The servers are located in a highly certified data center in Frankfurt am Main, one of Europe's most important Internet hubs. The infrastructure meets the highest requirements:
- Location in Germany (GDPR-compliant)
- Certifications, e.g., ISO 27001, EN 50600, Tier III or higher
- Redundant power and network connection
- 24/7 access control, video surveillance, fire protection systems
What is the maximum amount of RAM that can be installed?

Theoretically, sTR5 CPUs support up to 2 TB of RAM. However, this is only possible with the latest version – DDR5-RDIMM-3DS. Unfortunately, these RAM modules are currently difficult to find on the market. Normal DDR5 ECC registered RAM is supported by the server motherboard with up to 96 GB per module, so we are initially starting our offerings with up to 768 GB of DDR5 ECC registered RAM.
What is the difference between the WX and X models?

- WX models (e.g., 9995WX, 9985WX, 9965WX) are designed for workstations/servers with 8-channel memory and full ECC support.
- X models (e.g., 9980X) are aimed at high-end desktops (HEDT), with 4-channel memory and fewer PCIe lanes, but at a lower price point.
